Nicaragua, S.A. donated epidemic prevention materials to the government of N Roo Hsing Co., Ltd. is the global largest jeans manufacturer and also the model Taiwanese company investing in Nicaragua, creating approximately 1,400 job opportunities. In view of the global COVID-19 pandemic which negatively affects the consumer market, Roo Hsing Co. Nicaragua, S.A. decided to expand the cloth mask production line and strive to obtain international epidemic prevention material orders. With the help of the Embassy of Taiwan in Nicaragua, Roo Hsing donated 20,000 cloth masks to Government of Nicaragua.

On July 14, 2020, Ambassador Wu and Enrique Beteta, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health of Nicaragua, jointly hosted the donation ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua. The Deputy General Manager Ying-Zu Yang and Economic Counselor Wu Shumin of the Embassy were present. Ambassador Wu said that Taiwan government is actively assisting Nicaragua's epidemic prevention by donating surgical masks, protective clothing and other materials, and sharing experiences with Nicaragua. Roo Hsing invested in Nicaragua in 1999 to produce garments exporting to the United States, with corporate social responsibility, donated cloth masks to front-line workers in Nicaragua to assist in the prevention of the epidemic. Deputy Chief Beteta thanked the embassy and Roo Hsing for the assistance which was extremely helpful to all epidemic prevention personnel.

The Taiwanese company Jia-Fong Pharmaceutical Company of Nicaragua previously donated 500 thermometers to the Ministry of Health of Nicaragua in April 2020, which was unanimously praised by the Nicaraguan government and the private sector. This is the second time that a Taiwanese company has voluntarily donated epidemic prevention materials to the Nicaraguan government. In addition to the gratitude of the Nicaraguan government, it has been published and praised by many media in Nicaragua.
